Group’s festive sale is huge success
Larkhall and District Volunteer Group held their annual Christmas coffee morning and plant sale last month.
The event was another great success, with the group receiving a fantastic turnout.
All who went along enjoyed a selection of home baking, fabulous musical entertainment by Peter and Jackie Gavin and a visit to the many craft stalls.
The plant sale was extremely busy. A spokesperson for the group said: “Many thanks to all volunteers, LDVG members, local shops and businesses, stall holders, staff and members of the community, who all came together to make this event a huge success.
“We have raised just under £1800 so far, but hope to increase this with ongoing plant sales over the next couple of weeks.
“This money will help LDVG to continue with our popular and essential services and activities in and around the Larkhall area.”
The group are celebrating their 25th anniversary year and have produced their own `bag for life’ to help raise their profile in the community.
The spokesperson continued: “The bags are available at a cost of £3.50 from our premises, and by purchasing one of these charity bags you will help us continue our invaluable charity work, while also raising awareness in Larkhall and surrounding districts.”
New computer classes for beginners will start in January and more information will be available then.
Anyone who is struggling with computer knowledge would benefit from joining this class.
