ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, UDDINGSTON

Fr Towey, Deacon Richard and Deacon Alan thank parishione­rs for the many cards, masses and gifts given to them at Christmas. All are much appreciate­d.

They encourage us to renew our dedication to God and to his work, to share his love with each other and to pray for the lapsed.

Saturday, January 4: 11am mass. Sunday, January 5: 4.30pm Vigil mass at 10am, noon and 6pm mass.

ST MACHAN’S PARISH CHURCH

On Sunday, December 29, a Christmas thanksgivi­ng celebratio­n will be conducted by Rev Alastair Mckillop. The Sunday Fun Club are on holiday for the next two weeks.

GILMOUR AND WHITEHILL CHURCH

A united service, led by John Nicolson, will be held in Gilmour and Whitehill on Tuesday, December 24, at 7pm. All will be made welcome.

On Sunday, December 29, our united service will be held in Hamilton West at 10.45am.

What better way to end the year – you will be made welcome.

All our organisati­ons are now in recess. The coffee lounge re-opens on Monday, January 6.

The next drop-in will be Thursday, January 9, and the community cafe restarts on Friday, January 10.

HAMILTON OLD PARISH CHURCH

Our family service this Sunday, December 29,is at 10.45am with worship being led by Rev Ross Blackman. Enjoy fellowship over a tea or coffee in the halls after the service.

Join us for our Hogmanay party and service from 9pm in ‘The North Hall.’ There will be food and party pieces, if you wish to join in.

The evening will conclude with a short act of worship to see in the bells, followed by Auld Lang Syne. All are welcome to go along.

BLANTYRE LIVINGSTON­E MEMORIAL PARISH CHURCH

The Reverend Murdo Macdonald will lead us in worship on Sunday, December 28. This is a united service with St Andrew’s at 10am.

Wednesday worship will take place in St Andrew’s Parish Church for the month of January from 10am to 10.30am with praise, prayer and a thought for the day. It is open to all, and an opportunit­y to meet together for a time of worship.

Sporting Memories Group will meet on Wednesday, January 8, at 7.30pm in the small hall within Livingston­e Memorial Church. Contact Iain Mcmillan 01698 823325/07847 875546 for more informatio­n. All welcome to attend the group.

Brew & Blether: We continue meeting every Thursday between 10.30am and noon in the church hall. It would be lovely to see you for a cuppa and a wee blether. Everyone will be made most welcome. Please note: We will not meet on Thursday, December 26, and Thursday, January 2.

Christmas services: United morning worship will be held in Livingston­e Memorial Church on Sunday, January 5, at 10am. No morning worship at St Andrew’s Church.

HAMILTON UNITED REFORMED CHURCH

On Sunday, December 29, our service will be held in Righead, our sister church in East Kilbride at 11am.

We will be led in worship by Reverend Lindsey Sanderson, minister of Hamilton/east Kilbride Pastorate of United Reformed Church.

Tea and coffee will be available in the hall after the service.

HAMILTON BAPTIST CHURCH

The morning service on Sunday (December 29) at 10.45am will be led by the senior pastor, David Wilson.

The morning service will be followed by a light refreshmen­ts in the church halls. After the morning service, two members of the congregati­on will be available to pray with anyone feeling the need of prayer.

There will be no evening service on the December 29 and no Wednesday prayer meetings on December 25 or January 1. The Hogmanay party will be held on Tuesday, December 31, from 7.30pm to around 12.30 am.

There will be fun, food and games. Tickets are available for £5 and £3 for those under 16.

The next senior citizens’ meeting will be on Monday, January 6.

BLANTYRE OLD PARISH

Rev Sarah Ross will lead the congregati­on in worship on Sunday at 11am, when the Sunday Club will present the Nativity. All welcome.

Refreshmen­ts will be served in the hall following the service.

The leisure group, guild, coffee and craft and The Kettle’s On will resume in the New Year.

There will be a Christmas communion on Friday, December 20, at 7pm.

And the other Christmas services this year are: Christmas Eve tree sing at 6.30pm; the watchnight service at 11.30pm; and the Christmas Day service at 11am.

DALSERF PARISH

The watchnight service is on Tuesday,

December 24, at 11.30pm.

This will be preceded by Christmas goodies in Hamilton Hall from 10pm. Please join us for this special time of fellowship and worship.

Sunday worship on December 29 will take place in Dalserf Church at 11.30am and will be conducted by Rev

John Stevenson. The choir will meet at 10.30am.

The Christmas Appeal will continue throughout the month of December and the money raised will go to the drop-in centre in Hamilton.

Dalserf Church wish all a blessed Christmas and thank everyone who has supported us in any way during 2019.

CADZOW PARISH

The service at Cadzow Parish Church, Woodside Walk, Hamilton, at 10.45am on Sunday, December 29, will be led by Stewart Tweedlie.

He invites children to bring along a favourite Christmas gift to show and tell about to the congregati­on.

Please remember that there will be no Rock ‘n’ Roll service on January 5, but it will return in February. The service on January 5 will be a traditiona­l form of worship in the sanctuary of the church to welcome the new year.

The Thursday morning coffee lounge reopens on January 9 at 10am. Come along for tea, coffee, cake and chat with friends.
