Sweet acts lined up

Motherwell Concert Hall has a packed line-up for this year with a variety of top acts booked to perform.

Kicking off this spring is a top Neil Diamond tribute act.

Party to hits including Sweet Caroline, Forever in Blue Jeans and Girl You’ll be a Woman Soon as Fisher Stevens comes to town with A Beautiful Noise, on Friday, April 10, at 7.30pm.

See the singer perform complete with a live band, including brass, strings, backing singers, and dancers.

This talent is brought to the stage by producer and director David Mackay, who has worked with artists such as Cliff Richard, Dusty Springfiel­d and The Bee Gees, as well as West End shows including Jailhouse Rock.

Fisher said:“i am supported by an experience­d band and backing singers who are all as passionate about Neil Diamond as I am.

“It is my privilege to celebrate that talent and take the audience on a musical journey.”

Also in April there will be a top new drama workshop coming to Airdrie. Spit-spot is aimed at youngsters aged 8-12.

The Mary Poppins drama workshop, comes to Airdrie Town Hall on Tuesday, April 7, from 10am-4pm.

Kids can rehearse songs and routines from the classic Mary Poppins, devise their own scenes, and create a performanc­e to share with loved ones!

A packed lunch and bottled water will be required.

Participan­ts should wear/bring a black top and trousers for the performanc­e, which parents and guardians will be invited to watch at 4pm.
