Cheers.. gin will be perfect tonic.. in November

- SHIRLEY BARTYNEK

Scotland’s biggest one-day gin festival has been re-scheduled due to Covid-19.

Ginfall, which was set to be held in Hamilton Town House last month, has been moved to November 21.

The popular event will see gin-lovers sample the very best gins in Scotland and meet the distillers.

It was meant to go ahead on May 23, but organisers have moved the event to later in the year. A spokesperson for the event said:“due to the ongoing situation with Covid-19, we have decided to reschedule the date of the Ginfall Hamilton Festival.

“The Ginfall Hamilton event at Hamilton Town House will now take place on Saturday, November 21, 2020.

“All timings will remain the same, as is the case with all exhibitors, gin distillers, music acts, street food, cocktail masterclasses etc.

Furthermore, due to the new date of the event, we have decided to make this our Christmas Ginfall event – so there will also be plenty of Christmas-themed gins, cocktails, food and entertainment at the event.

“We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause, but we do not feel that we have any other choice, plus we will ensure that the Christmas Ginfall event will be a day and a night to remember. All tickets that have been purchased for the Ginfall event on Saturday,

May 23, will be valid for the new date on Saturday, November 21.”

The festival has been a huge hit over the years.

Almost 1000 people discovered the ideal tonic to the scorching weather at Hamilton’s first gin festival in 2018.

The top tipple was the talk of the town as everyone got in the spirit.

Due to the new date, we have decided to make this our Christmas Ginfall event
