Pubs in Hamilton opened their beer gardens this week as lockdown restrictions continue to ease.

Bar Zero and Mrs Millsy’s were among the first to lift their shutters as thirsty punters welcomed their return.

Hamilton locals returned to beer gardens this week as they opened for the first time since lockdown.

Thirsty punters basked in the sunshine on Monday while outdoor hospitality began the resumption of business for pubs in Scotland.

Social distance measures are part of the new-look experience, with Hamilton businesses dedicated to ensuring customers are safe.

Among those lifting their shutters were Bar Zero who sold out their bookings for most the week, as well as Mrs Millsy’s who catered for outdoor seating and live entertainment to welcome customers back.

Bar Zero were at full capacity as their arrangements allowed for up to 120 people in their beer garden, with future bookings available online by messaging them on Facebook.

Pub owner Rebecca Laughlin was happy to welcome back customers and is urging everyone to stay safe while things get back to normal.

Club 100 in Motherwell was also busy, as was the Parkville in Blantyre.

Meanwhile Rocca Hamilton has opened outdoor facilities to cater locals for outdoor food and drink. They posted on social media: “We are so pleased to reopen our doors in some way. I just want to take this time to reiterate how sorry we are for the effects of the virus and our thanks for your compassion, custom and support ... without it we cannot survive.”
