Shop until you drop – but be extra cautious as centre reopens

- MATT BRYAN

Shoppers have been flocking to the Regent Shopping Centre as the Hamilton complex opened back up fully for the first time since lockdown.

The centre has been urging locals to stay cautious and follow guidelines while indoor shopping resumes. This includes ensuring mandatory face masks are worn at all times.

It came as all non-essential shops were given the green light to reopen their doors on Monday.

Regent Shopping Centre welcomed customers back, posting online:“in line with government coronavirus guidance Regent Shopping Centre will be reopening today on Monday, July 13, for our non-essential stores.

“The health and safety of our customers and our employees continues to be our priority at all times and Regent Shopping Centre has introduced the following measures to keep you safe.”

The measures include: It is mandatory for customers to wear face masks within the retail stores; customers are asked to wear face masks within the mall; and customers entering the shopping centre must keep to the left as the inside of the centre is one way only.

Individual stores in the shopping centre will also have their own health and safety procedures which locals are asked to follow.

They can check these by visiting the respective stores’social media platforms, where any changes to opening times and further guidance can be viewed.

Regent Shopping Centre will continue to update their social media and website with the latest information. You can see this at www. regentshoppingcentre.com
