GAMES REVIEWS Racing simulator has right formula
Motor-racing games are not necessarily known for the scope of experience they offer, but F1 2020 does a great job of challenging that perspective.
This is down to the new My Team mode, an expanded career where not only do players create their own driver, but must create, build and manage their own team. This involves all the finer details of the task — budgets, contracts and R&D — and does a great job of filling the time between your actual races.
On the track, Codemasters have again done a great job of accurately recreating the feeling of being behind the wheel driving one of these impressive machines that can travel at breathtaking speeds and are expertly honed by the likes of Lewis Hamilton.
For multiplayer fans, split-screen returns for the first time since 2014 too, giving friends the chance to play together on a single screen again.
In all, it’s a great-looking motor-racing game made a must-play by the brilliantly detailed My Team mode.
It’s definitely a winner.
