Holiday accommodation, including hotels and guest houses, can also now operate. People can now gather at a place of worship, or for a funeral, marriage ceremony or civil partner registration.
In relation to indoor hospitality, from a policing perspective, our focus will be on traditional types of issues we would normally have to deal with in licensed premises. We have no role in ensuring physical distancing is maintained between customers. This is a matter for the business operator.
There are regulatory requirements on those operating businesses to take steps to ensure physical distancing measures are in place. However, local authorities are leading on business enforcement.
As many of the regulations are being relaxed we will continue to engage, explain and encourage. Enforcement will only be used as a last resort.
