Residents urged to review home security
Recently there has been an increase in thefts from insecure properties.
Residents should be vigilant and aware that criminals are still obtaining keys via letter boxes.
I encouraged everyone to review their home security and take steps to reduce the opportunities for thefts.
On June 30, officers from the Divisional Alcohol Violence Reduction Unit conducted a drug search at an address in Blantyre.
A 21- year- old male has been reported for allegedly having controlled drugs with a street value in excess of £35,000.
On July 29 community police from Hamilton carried out a drugs search at an address in Elmbank Crescent, Hamilton.
A 36-year-old male has been charged with alleged drugs offences.
On August 1 police had cause to stop a vehicle in the Bellfield Road area of Coalburn.
A drug search was conducted and brown powder was recovered and later tested positive for heroin.
A search warrant was sought and issued and an address was searched in Rigside where a quantity of cannabis was recovered.
A 34-year-old male was charged and a report sent to the procurator Fiscal.
On July 31, officers from the community policing team at Lanark conducted a search of a property in Greenbank Terrace, Carluke, in possession of a drugs search warrant.
A quantity of herbal cannabis was recovered along with cash.
A 23-year-old male was arrested and charged with alleged drug offences.
