Accies urge fans to follow FACTS advice
Hamilton Accies are reiterating the importance of following FACTS to keep coronavirus under control.
The club’s young midfielder Reegan Mimnaugh urged people to follow the vital steps, in the hope that compliance will help towards a safe phased return to football stadia in the near future. The FACTS acronym stands for: Face coverings
Avoid crowded places
Clean hands and surfaces regularly
Two-metre physical distancing
Self-isolate and book a test immediately if you have coronavirus symptoms.
The Scottish Government approved football pilot events with limited numbers of fans at Aberdeen v Kilmarnock and Ross County v Celtic on September 12.
The recent rise in new Covid-19 cases in Scotland, however, has reinforced that the situation remains fragile, and people are being urged to stick with it, following the guidance to keep themselves and their loved ones safe, and to help manage any spread of the virus.
Reegan, 18, said:“these are unprecedented times we are all living in, however, no matter your age this virus doesn’t discriminate.
“We all need to play our own part for Scotland and following the simple five steps of FACTS will play a massive part in fighting this virus and keeping everyone safe.”
Minister for Public Health, Sport andwellbeing Joe Fitzpatrick said: “The recent reimposing of restrictions has served as a reminder that the virus hasn’t gone away and needs everyone to stick with it in order to keep it under control.
“We welcome this support at club level and would urge football fans to play their part in helping protect the progress that has been made, and ask that they to continue to following these vital steps to keep themselves and their families safe and work with us so that as we suppress the virus we can see the things that matter to us safely return.”
