Covid-19 rules are explained

-

Scotland is now part of the new Covid-19 rules, whereby we are no longer allowed to meet people from any other households in your own home or another person’s home socially, unless they are in your extended household, or there are requirements for childcare.

You can meet people outdoors, in your garden or a public place, in groups of up to six people from no more than two households (not counting under-12s).

New legislation requires restaurants, cafes, bars and pubs to close from 10pm to 5am, therefore last orders need to be called no later than 9.45pm. There is no period of grace (there are exemptions, within the limits of their licence, for example in relation to room service in a hotel or other accommodation).

Police Scotland will continue their 4 E’s Policing style and tone – Engage / Explain / Encourage / Enforce.

About midday on September 25, police obtained a drugs warrant for an address in Kirkmuirhill. A systematic search of the property took place utilising a drugs dog.

Officers allegedly seized 185 blue tablets, eight bags of herbal material and a large quantity of white tablets.

A 33-year-old male was cautioned and charged with alleged possession with intent to supply illegal substances.

About 11pm on the same day police were on uniformed mobile patrol on Machan Road, Larkhall, when they had reason to talk with a male.

On exiting the vehicle, the male made off from police. A short foot chase ensued before the male was apprehended.

The male was allegedly found to be in possession of a knuckle duster. He was 15 years of age. He was returned home and cautioned and charged for being in possession of an alleged offensive weapon in a public place.

About 1.50pm on September 27, police were called to a road traffic accident in Uddingston, whereby a 41-year-old male had been knocked off his road bike by a motor vehicle.

The 28-year-old disqualified driver, from the Cumbernauld area, made off from the scene.

Police later traced the driver who was charged with various alleged road traffic offences.

The injured party was later released from hospital and will make a full recovery in due course.

If you have any relevant information or matters you feel should be reported to the police, you can do so by calling 101, or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
