Roadworks set for A725
A busy stretch of road near the Raith Interchange is set to be affected by roadworks next week.
Motorists are being advised that part of the A725 southbound will be closed overnight on two days from Monday, November 16.
From 8pm until 6am the road will be closed between Bellziehill Junction and Orbiston Junction while essential bridge joint works take place.
As a result, the following slip roads will also be closed to allow for the work:
■ A725 southbound Bellziehill Junction onslip road and the A725 southbound Orbiston Junction off-slip road.
Road bosses say these closures are required to ensure road user and road worker safety whilst the bridge work is carried out overnight to minimise disruption to traffic. Signed diversion routes will be in place for the roads surrounding the area which are affected.
A spokesperson for Transport Scotland said: “These works will be carried out by Scottish Road Partnership on behalf of Transport Scotland to maintain the integrity and safety of this route.
“The works have been planned in consultation with Transport Scotland, Traffic Scotland, the emergency services, North Lanarkshire Council and South Lanarkshire Council.
“Please note, all works are weather dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable. If you have any enquiries regarding these works, please contact us on 0800 042 0188 or info@ scotroadspartnership.co.uk .
