After Hamilton’s stunning 4-1 win over Motherwell, we spoke to fans Brandon Coghill and Ewan Summers to get an insight into fan opinion.
1. You must be delighted with the performance and result?
Bs:“best feeling I’ve had all season and there is definitely a proper feel good factor about Accies the past week and long may it continue.
“I thought even if we played remotely as good as we did against Rangers, we’d have a chance but to better that was unbelievable.
“It’s not very often that we can say we can take the foot off the gas in a game, only downside is it could’ve been more than 4 if we kept at them!”
ES:“IT was probably our most important game of the season to see how we kicked on from such a good performance against Rangers.
“We’ve seen all too often an impressive performance against Celtic or Rangers being followed up by a really poor display against a team around us,so this hopefully suggests that things are on the up.”
2. Why do you think you’re so successful against Motherwell?
BC: “I think maybe Motherwell go into the games giving us far too much respect and for some reason we always tend to turn up in the fixture.
“There is definitely some sort of different mentality involved when it comes to this fixture.”
Es:“despite winning three in a row, this was the first time we were convincingly better than them in every department.
“Much of the first game was David Turnbull v Ryan Fulton before Rice’s subs won the game, the second was more similar to Saturday – and was the first game of this system that’s served us well in 2021. The most recent game was a culmination of everything we’ve done well recently.
3. Does this give you confidence you can avoid relegation?
Bc:“there definitely is a feel good factor right now around the players ever since Rangers and you can tell that by just looking on social media.
“I thought we were dead and buried after Ross County but now we seem to have a new lease of life, right at the perfect time. It will go right up to the wire but at least now we definitely have a fighting chance!
ES:“I remember reading after the Rangers game that the standard had been set which was a really nice way of putting it. We’ll have dips between now and the end of the season, but we’ve seen over the last few weeks just how well this team can play.
“We seem to have, by and large, found the 11 that will give us the best chance of staying up.”
