Boss looks ahead to derby clash with ’Well

-

Hamilton Accies boss Brian Rice and his backroom team of Guillaume Beuzelin and Brian Potter have been rewarded with new deals at the club.

All three have been put on one-year rolling contracts.

Speaking to the club’s website, chairman Allan Maitland said:“we are delighted to have these three guys signed up to new contracts with the club.

“The quality which they have as coaches is there for all to see.

“We have watched, first hand, the devotion and dedication they have gor maximising the potential of all the club’s players.

“The guys understand what it means to represent our club and are able to put that message across to the players.

“Now the contracts have been signed, we look forward to ending the season strongly.”

However, Rice has also received a notice of complaint from the Scottish FA compliance officer over comments he made about referee decisions following Accies’3-0 Scottish Cup third round defeat to St Mirren on April 3.

The charges relate to publicly criticising match officials and/or decisions and not acting in the best interests of association football.

Rice will appear via Zoom call in front of the Scottish FA on April 29.

In an expletive-filled rant, Rice said his side don’t get decisions, when they complain about it they get swept to the side and ignored, and revealed that he had contacted Crawford Allan, who is Scottish FA head of referee operations for a discussion about some of the decisions/.

During a stormy after-match press conference, Rice said: “We’re getting absolutely nothing. Absolutely nothing.

“And I’m fed up phoning Crawford Allan and being f ******* shoved to the side because we’re only Hamilton.

“That’s what’s happening.”
