There are no senior fixtures remaining this season, with a couple of Sevens invitations before Biggar Sevens takes place on May 18.

Earlier on Saturday for the Scotland versus England Women’s 6 Nations match, eight ladies’ team players were guests of sponsors Guinness at the Hive in Edinburgh.

Biggar man Chris Cruise, who works with Scottish Rugby, providing sound and music prior to many SRU and Glasgow Warriors events, entered the club into a competition, which they ultimately won.

The girls were on the pitch before the game, carrying and unfurling a large Guinness flag as the teams entered the pitch.

A Biggar spokesperson said: “Aside from the excitement of being involved, they were then pitchside to watch the game and to also meet former Biggar player Donna Kennedy.

“The 46-0 result was not the one Scotland had hoped for, but in previous years the side would have been swept away by what is a particularly strong and very experienced England squad.”

Meanwhile, Biggar’s 2nds team also wrapped up their Inter-city League season with a 41-17 defeat at GHA.

In a young team, experienced Andrew Peacock played his last game for the club.
