Storage would support homeless
DO YOU have a dry storage space about the size of a garage that you can spare?
If so, you would be helping a charity which helps homeless people in the borough.
Outreach Hillingdon, whose aim is to provide necessities for homeless people this winter, is also appealing for donations of clean clothing, sleeping bags, toiletries, dog food (many homeless people have a canine companion) and any other things that would make life a little more bearable this winter.
It needs storage for the items it collects.
Outreach Hillingdon is affiliated to the online compaign #opsafewinter, which grew out of the Anonymous activism movement.
It is expecting delivery of three pallets of items shortly, and desperately needs somewhere to store them until they can be handed out.
If you can help with storage or with donations, email glynisw40@hotmail .com YOU’VE heard of a ghost ship – now try a spooky narrowboat.
Hillingdon Narrowboat Association is offering frightfully good excursions on Friday, October 31 and Saturday, November 1 along the Grand Union Canal from The Coy Carp pub in Coppermill Lane, Harefield.
The Halloween-themed trips last about 45 minutes and run every 30 minutes from 5pm. Cost is £5, under-threes free.
