Help our heroes cope with the aftermath of war

-

LISTEN to the sounds of swing, funk, reggae and blues at a charity swing dance and barbecue in aid of Help for Heroes.

The Metro Blues Collective will be encouraging people to take to the dance floor to support wounded service men and women and their families.

The band was inspired to perform at the Battle of Britain Club after meeting a former Irish Guard after a gig in March.

Tom Maloney, 28, was in active service from 2003 until 2012. He left the army after being injured, then suffered post-traumatic stress disorder and ended up living rough behind a venue where the band were playing. They decided to donate all their takings from that night’s gig to Tom and contacted the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen’s Families Association (SSAFA), which found him shelter and helped him get a job.

The band take a keen interest in helping other men and women who have been wounded by war. What? Swing Dance in aid of Help for Heroes Where?
