REMEMBERING: Parades honour those fallen in war
PARADES marched throughout the borough at the weekend to mark Remembrance Sunday. Scouts and guides were among those who assembled in Barra Hall Park, off Church Road, in Hayes, before taking part in a service to remember the war dead at St Mary’s Church, in Church Road.
The crowd then observed a short act of remembrance at the war memorial at the corner of the churchyard, while another service was held at the Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in Botwell Lane.
Meanwhile, in Hillingdon, a parade travelled from the fire station, in Uxbridge Road, to attend a service and wreath-laying at the war memorial in the churchyard of St John The Baptist Church, in Hilling Hill, as nation fell silent.
