- By Alan Hayes alan.hayes@trinitymirror.com

THE girls of St Helen’s School in Northwood get an ‘A+’ for fundraising.

By selling their 2015 school calendar they have raised an impressive £9,000, with more still to come.

The pupils at the school in Eastbury Road, Northwood, held a Christmas fundraising day where the calendar was on sale and there were plenty of other stalls to tempt shoppers, as well as a traditional Santa’s grotto.

Charities they have helped include Children in Need, Ataxia UK, Michael Sobell Hospice, Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research, plus Watford Hospital Radio and the British Red Cross.

And over on the Young Enterprise stall, what might become the must-have gift of Christmas 2015 was on show – the Selfie Stick, a gadget invented for capturing the perfect smartphone selfie.
