PARENTS are outraged after they found a ‘winter wonderland’ attraction was cancelled just days before its planned launch, which a host of celebrities were expected to attend.

Organisers of the ‘Winter Family Spectacular’ say they have been forced to cancel because of a disagreement with the landowners.

The attraction was scheduled to open near Ruislip today (Wednesday), with former I’m A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here star David Van Day performing at the launch and other stars on the billing.

Dozens of furious parents have hit out at the organisers on the event’s Facebook page.

Wendy Walsh said: “Blatently was fake why wud it be cancelled two days before. luckily I didn’t tell my child about this!!”

Rachey Babey John said: “How can someone make the decision 2 days before hand to cancel an event after loads of people have made the effort to make it happen that aint right surely.”

The attraction was supposed to run until Saturday, December 27, at the SKLP site, in India Gardens, West End Road, Northolt, featuring fairground rides, a Santa’s grotto and food stalls.

Former Dollar singer Mr Van Day and his wife, Sue Moxley, had been expected to perform at the opening, with all proceeds from the night going to the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation, University College Hospital in London, Curerett.org and the Showmen’s Children’s Charity.

Also on the billing were former EastEnder Matt Lapinskas, former Corrie actor Adam Rickitt, boxer Joe Calzaghe, former Blue singer Lee Ryan, former Another Level singer Dane Bowers, soap stars Danny Boy Hatchard, Tony Discipline and Louise Bradshaw, and TV presenter Jeff Brazier.

In a statement, organiser Robert Wheatley said: “There have been issues with the owners of the site, who have withdrawn permission for us to hold the winter fair at the SKLP site in India Gardens, Northolt. Both sides have tried to reach agreement but have ultimately failed to do so. This is a real shame as it would have been a great community event, benefiting four charities.”
