HA6 1PA CYCLISTS are being encouraged to sign up for a sponsored bike ride to raise money for a hospice.
Michael Sobell Hospice will hold its On Your Bike event on Sunday, May 17 from 8am.
Long and short routes will begin and end at the hospice, in Mount Vernon Hospital, Rickmansworth Road, Northwood.
The seven-mile route is open to adults and children aged between seven and 16, who must be accompanied by an adult, taking riders through Harefield and Ruislip.
The 33-mile route will take more experienced cyclists through scenic country lanes towards Amersham, Bovingdon and Hemel Hempstead, with marshals on hand to give directions.
A water and comfort stop will be available at the Boot Tavern, in Tower Hill, Chipperfield.
Event organiser Ophelia Chambers-Henry said: “This year we would like to attract more than 200 cyclists to this event. Last year we had great feedback from the riders and we would like to make the event even bigger this year.”
Adult registration costs £15 before May 8, or £20 afterwards or on the day. Child registration costs £10.
All proceeds will go towards the hospice, which cares for patients with life-limiting illnesses.
