Burglar jailed after being caught stealing a bicycle
Sentenced to a year behind bars and given behaviour order
A BURGLAR who targeted businesses in Cowley has been jailed and handed a criminal behaviour order – after police caught him stealing a push-bike.
Billy Brazil was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment for two counts of burglary and the theft of a pedal cycle at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, April 14.
He was caught after police saw him stealing a bicycle in High Street, Yiewsley on January 28.
Uniformed response team officers gave chase and arrested him in a nearby car park.
Brazil, 36, of Lily Drive, West Drayton, was subsequently charged with committing two separate burglaries at business premises in Iver Lane, Hillingdon, on November 6 and 18 last year.
In addition to his jail sentence, Brazil was ordered to pay £80 costs and was handed a threeyear criminal behaviour order, prohibiting him from consuming alcohol in any public place unless a licensed premises; possessing any form of opened alcoholic vessel unless in a licensed premises; associating in a public place in England or Wales with a named individual; and entering Berberis Walk, in West Drayton, including any premises, garden, pavement or the alleyway between Berberis Walk and Laurel Lane.

“By securing and presenting the best evidence before the courts, a strong and lengthy criminal behaviour order has been served against Brazil, in addition to a year-long jail term, further protecting the residents and areas he blighted.
