TRINITY Mir­ror ti­tles in­clud­ing the Uxbridge Gazette, picked up gongs at the ACE Awards for the news­pa­per and mag­a­zine in­dus­try.

The Gazette team came up trumps in the Cir­cu­la­tion Ex­cel­lence by a Free Pub­li­ca­tion cat­e­gory, prompt­ing ju­bi­lant scenes at the Dorch­ester, in Lon­don, on April 16.

The Daily Mir­ror and Sun­day Mir­ror picked up Cir­cu­la­tion Ex­cel­lence by a Na­tional News­pa­per awards to cap off a suc­cess­ful night for Trinity, which claimed three of the 11 awards.

It fol­lowed changes for the Gazette and sis­ter ti­tles The Houn­slow Chron­i­cle and Eal­ing Gazette, in June which saw them switch from be­ing paid-for to free ti­tles avail­able at pick-up points and shops around their bor­oughs.

Cir­cu­la­tion manager Craig Wil­letts said: “This is a great award for Trinity Mir­ror South­ern, for the recog­ni­tion by the team in set­ting up this dis­tri­bu­tion model.The aim was for th­ese ti­tles to be more ac­ces­si­ble to cus­tomers in West Lon­don and to drive busi­ness to newsagents.

“To be recog­nised in the most pres­ti­gious news­pa­per sales awards of the year is a suc­cess in it­self but to win it against some mighty op­po­si­tion was un­be­liev­able, and a credit to the whole team in­volved.”

Trinity Mir­ror dom­i­nated the short­lists, with nine nom­i­na­tions in to­tal. Now in their 64th year, the ACE awards cel­e­brate ex­cel­lence with-in the field of pub­lish­ing in the UK.
