work based training whilst continuing to study towards a recognised vocational qualification (NVQ's). In the first year of the apprenticeship you are paid to go to the Industrial Training Centre at Kingston College for forty weeks, where you spend four days a week learning practical skills and one day a week
learning engineering theory. For the remainder of the apprenticeship you learn on the job and attend College one day a week to achieve a BTEC Level 3 Diploma in Engineering. You will be trained in the workplace in all areas such as Machining, Non Destructive Testing, Paintstrip/Teardown, and Hydraulics. You will need to have at least 5 GCSE’s at
grade B or above for Maths, English, Science and two other subjects. We are looking for flexibility, team spirit, good communication skills, determination and high levels of self-motivation. You must be able to commute between the Hayes Facility and Kingston College.
