Historic listed gem in a peaceful suburban road

-

have been a number of ar ticles in the press over recent months that have featured up-andcoming commuter spots, and one of these concentrated on those within an hour’s journey of Mar ylebone station.

This is proving to be a prime attraction due to the links to the Chiltern overland and to the underground via the Bakerloo line. It is also not too bad a cycle, or walk, to the capital’s centre, being just set back from the A40/Mar ylebone Road. The piece, in The Standard, centred on the merits of proper ty prices and travel times to the city in areas beyond the M25. It spoke about the best and affordable locations in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire, for those who work in the capital but don’t wish, or cannot afford, to live there.

Commuters are enjoying swifter journey times to Mar ylebone station via the Chiltern line thanks to a recent upgrade in rail ser vices, which has opened up more options for people to consider choices fur ther afield, with the additional benefit being that they are in some of the loveliest countr yside the shires have to offer.

One of the areas named in the shor tlist of oppor tunities was our ver y own Gerrards Cross, which it obser ved had been ‘lauded for its dramatic price growth, with homes wor th 15% more now than they were a year ago’. And, as we commented on in our own ar ticle recently, we can only agree with this view, especially as Gerrards Cross is well within the ‘hour from Mar ylebone tag’ at only 25 minutes!

Our Gibbs Gillespie’s Gerrards Cross office, nestled in Packhorse Road, had cer tainly noticed that there was already a distinct trend of migration from London to the areas that we ser ve, and also from our nearer branches of Pinner, Rickmanswor th, Uxbridge, Ruislip, Nor thwood, Ruislip Manor and Harrow. This, of course, was not due just to quick train times but for the genuine ‘family factor’, the excellent schools, a cinema, a wide mix of restaurants and shops, the fact that it is a lovely par t of the world, plus good and fast links to the city!
