More wages being spent on daily commute

-

A SURVEY claims two thirds of people are spending more than 5% of their salary on commuting.

Office space provider Regus surveyed over 4,000 senior business people across the UK and found that the average proportion of pay spent on commuting was 4% – a rise from 3% in 2010 – but in Uxbridge it is 1% higher. For 15% of respondents the daily commute costs them over a tenth of their monthly pay packet. Regus UK CEO Richard Morris said: “Businesses that want to retain and attract top talent cannot fail to address this issue. Flexible working can provide a solution. Staff that spend less time on crowded trains have more time to apply themselves to the job in hand.”
