Owner of landscaping firm fined for damage
THE owner of a landscaping company who piled up 25 pallets of paving stones, blocking the pavement, has been fined.
Mark Richards, of Richards Landscapes, was found guilty of obstructing the pavement and grass verge in Church Road, Cowley, when he appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on April 28.
The court heard how, in November 2014, his company was employed to lay a driveway for a resident of Church Road, Cowley, and chose to store building materials outside the property.
Hillingdon Council’s anti-social behaviour investigations team served a legal notice on the company to remove the materials, but after they were gone, damage to the pavement and grass verge was observed.
Mr Richards was ordered to pay £1,373.70, which included a fine, compensation for the damage caused and the council’s legal costs.
