Phone shop hit by robbers
Female staff members left frightened and shaken by raid
FOUR robbers wearing yellow washing up gloves dragged and restrained a sales assistant during a robbery at the Vodafone store in Ruislip, police have said.
Detectives investigating the raid on Thursday April 2, 10.40am have this week released CCTV images, pictured right, of the men who left staff at the shop in High Street shaken, before making off with 14 mobile phones.
DC Anji Dawson of Hillingdon Police said: “The female staff involved are still understandably shocked and frightened about what they encountered that day.
“Clearly the men were prepared to use force if the women did not comply with them.”
She added: “There is a distinctive feature to all the suspects – the yellow washing up gloves they were wearing. The High Street was busy that time of the morning and there would have been many witnesses. I urge anyone who saw the suspects or what happened to call us.”
Police said the raiders walked in the shop and ordered two female sales assistants to go to a back room.
As one of the women tried to back away, she can be seen on CCTV being restrained and dragged to the rear of the store. The suspects demanded the keys to a locked cage containing brand new mobile phones. They stole the handsets, worth around £500 each.
The raiders are thought to be in their teens or 20s, and fled down Midcroft.
Detectives say it is possible they got into a vehicle. The four were wearing dark clothes, hats and hoods and the distinctive yellow washing up gloves.
