Arrest made in murder investigation
Detectives carry out search of premises four months after death
DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Redwan ElGhaidouni from Hillingdon have made an arrest.
On Tuesday, June 16 officers arrested a 34-yearold man from Uxbridge on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
He was taken into custody at a west London police station and detectives carried out searches of premises.
The arrest comes four months after 38-year-old Mr El-Ghaidouni was gunned down in the driveway of the home he shared with his partner and three children in Vine Lane, just before 7pm on February 3.
A £50,000 reward remains on offer for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible.
Det Ch Insp Noel McHugh of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, said: “Redwan had been linked to criminality and drug importation in the past.
“I am sure his murder remains widely talked about in criminal circles and I would urge anyone with information to approach us in the strictest confidence.
“This was clearly a wellplanned murder and it is likely the gunman would have had help – if you were involved on the periphery of this brutal crime, please come and speak to us or Crimestoppers.”
Officers are still asking for the public’s help to identify a man who was seen an hour before Mr ElGhaidouni was murdered, standing on the verge by a Redwan’s street. Did anyone see the same man hanging round, either on foot or in a car?
“If you did, I would urge you to get in touch with my team.
“Redwan left work on the day he was murdered at around 5.20pm and normally his journey would take about 30 minutes, but on that Tuesday he didn’t get home until just before 7pm.
“We are still piecing together what he was doing during the course of that hour.
“We have traced Redwan to the general area of Hillingdon Hospital at about 6.30pm, but as yet cannot find a reason why.”
Anyone with any information should call the incident room on 020 8785 8099 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
