WILLOW Tree roundabout in the borough of Hillingdon has been named as one of the five most dangerous in west London.

Figures from the Department for Transport for 2010-2014 show 17 accidents at the roundabout in Hayes and 21 injuries.

The most dangerous roundabout in west London and third most unsafe in Britain is the heavily used Hogarth roundabout in Chiswick, according to the figures.

There were 43 road accidents reported here in the four year period, with 49 people injured.

Year-on-year data showed a big jump in crashes at roundabouts in west London from 225 in 2013, to 281 by the end of last year.

The worst roundabout in the country is the one outside Elephant and Castle train station in Southwark which has claimed 59 accidents.

The number of road accident in Britain rose for the first time in a decade in 2014 with 5.9% more than in 2013. However, the number of accidents on roundabouts has outstripped this increase with 9.8 more crashes in 2014 than 2013.
