Geraghty treble paves way for 14-goal win

WEST Drayton Explorers U8s Blues comfortabl­y defeated Old Windsor 14-1 after a hat-trick from Stanley Geraghty and two goals apiece from Mason Spring and Jack Taylor.

The U9s Reds cruised to a 10-2 win thanks to goals from Joe Rossiter, Tristan Villacrusi­s, Ethan Cupido and Euan Hlubanyana, who each scored twice as Harry Todd and Jacob Hughes added to the scoreline.

Meanwhile, the U14s progressed to the next stage of the Middlesex County Cup after fending off Elite Magic 6-3.

A man of the match effort from Patrick Hickey and a great Rocky Rokas strike were not enough for the U9 Purples, who fell to a 2-1 defeat against KS Gryf.

U7s Reds saw off S4K 7-3 thanks to a double strike from Odeiro Adams, and goals from Gabriel Atkins, Harry Macfadyen, Cairo Jones.

Explorers U10s secured a 5-0 win at Townmead, while the U12s had an Amari Adams hattrick to thank as they beat FC Cippenham 4-0, with Alfie Taylor also scoring.

The U11s Reds won their opening nine-a-side league match 5-2 thanks to goals from Josh O’Dell, Jordan Kandanga, Ray Belfon, Cian Johnson and man of the match Thomas Hickey.

Meanwhile, Explorers were awarded the Middlesex FA’s Developmen­t Club of the Year title for the second consecutiv­e year.

Sensationa­l Kayleigh Currivan ran the show for Denham United Ladies U15s in a dominant win over Crystal Palace at the Den. Currivan banged in six goals in a 10-2 victory for the girls to leave them joint top of the table after the opening two weekends.

Yasmin Garcia also weighed in with a brace while there were further strikes from Maddie Vilday and Katie Ackerman to complete the job.

Amy Holdcroft’s free-kick was not enough to prevent the U14s slipping to a 2-1 defeat at Harvesters, while the U13s lost 2-0 to Ruislip Rangers.

Fiona Barclay smashed in four for the U12s in an 11-2 win over Larkspur Rovers, Maddie Kirkby and Fiona Barclay adding a couple each, Tara Jhawer scoring a hat-trick and Isabelle Garraway and an own goal to round off the scoresheet.

Denham United Ladies seniors played out a goalless draw with Ipswich Town while the reserves beat Enfield thirds 10-0 thanks to goals from Charlie-Leigh Dixon (4), Emma Butler (2), Alana Maria Lazanis, Megan Payne and a brace in her first game for Krystal Clarke. HILLINGDON’s Kian Panjavi claimed a weightlift­ing silver medal at the Commonweal­th Youth Games.

The Barnhill Community High sixth form student fought off stiff iff opposition­iti t to add dd to an impressive year of competitio­n.

Panjavi (pictured) previously qualified for the Commonweal­th Youth Games by earning a gold medal at the British Youth Championsh­ips, setting a new personal best in the process.

The weightlift­ing prodigy will be competing at the European Youth Championsh­ips in October.
