FACE OF THE GLOBE: Teen in the final of beauty pageant
Place at Face of the Globe Pageant
A TEENAGER from Hayes End, Middlesex has won a place in the Face of the Globe Beauty Pageant final in Disneyland Paris next year.
Ameisha Clarke, 16, a student at Swakeleys School for Girls in Hillingdon, took part in the London pageant heat at Elstree Studios on 29 August and placed in the top five out of 40 entrants. The event has four age categories: Minis, Juniors, Teens and Adults. She has chosen to represent Jamaica in the final in April, as her father and three of her grandparents are Jamaican.
Ameisha said: “Making it to the grand finals of Face of the Globe was a huge shock for me. I still consider myself as a pageant newbie so I didn’t expect to make it.”
This is her first international pageant, although last year she was named Miss Junior Teen Congeniality at the Miss Teen Great Britain pageant competition held at the Globe Theatre, Blackpool.
Ameisha’s mother, Justina, said: “I am pleased that Ameisha has progressed as it will allow her to grow in confidence and build on her charity and fundraising activities as she wants to show that beauty pageants are not just about looks but also about being a rounded and caring individual.”
The Face of the Globe pageant is hosted over one week between the UK and Disneyland Paris, and was founded by Lucie Hide, a former international beauty queen from England.
