Geraghty hits four as Explorers claim trophy

Under-8s lift Developmen­t Cup after convincing victory YOUTH FOOTBALL

WEST Drayton Explorers U8s Blues are Developmen­t Cup winners.

They beat SFK Eagles 6-2 in the final courtesy of four-goal Stanley Geraghty, Mason Spring and Jack Taylor.

Harrison Naughton scored in a 1-1 draw for West Drayton Explorers U7s Reds against Windsor Owls. That came after a 5-0 loss to Burnham Minors Reds.

The U9 Reds beat Townmead 7-2 thanks to hat-trick hero Euan Hlubanyana, Charlie Penil, Joe Rossiter, Tristan Villavrusi­s and Ethan Cupido.

Explorers’ U9 Blues were 5-0 winners over Thames Valley Whites. Christophe­r Burton (2), Saif Mustafa (2) and KJ Teague hit the target. Jay Fitzgerald netted and Nico Martucci starred for the U9 Purples in a 4-1 loss to BJ Leopards.

Reece Butler sent the U10s through to a cup final after his goal sunk Burnham Juniors Reds in the semis. Callum Gorman was man of the match.

Mohamed Bah and Diogo Goncalves were on target as the U11s Blues beat London Tigers 4-2 while the U11s Reds lost 5-1 to Thames Valley, Ray Murray scoring and Bobby Hart impressing.

Amari Adams and Connor Grantham tried their best but could not stop the U12s going down 3-1 to Burnham Junior Reds.

Zak Gee (2), Charlie Rogers (2), Emmanuel Mccalmon, Harry Aldred, Kamal Yusef, Zubair Naseri, Ted O’Brien and Adama Jarju fired the U15s to a 10-0 win over Seer Green.

Meanwhile, classy Denham United Ladies U14s put four past Harvesters without reply on Saturday.

Alisha Bajwa, Niamh Reynolds, Mia Stevenson and Courtney Woolley got the goals as United showed their clinical touch.

Tilly Wilson also made an outstandin­g contributi­on and Eden Roswell impressed off the bench to see Denham move up to third in the Herts League standings.

Denham’s U15s were awarded a bye into the next round of the County Cup after Hackney Youth failed to field a side at the weekend.

The U13s were narrow 1-0 winners over Benego Tigers as Grace Nwoseh got the decisive strike. Katie Gavin worked tirelessly and Aislinn Rafferty showed good technique.

Savannah Charles’ excellent performanc­e for the U12s was not enough to prevent a 4-1 defeat to Broomfield Academy.

Fiona Barclay had opened the scoring for Denham but Broomfield got themselves organised and responded well to falling behind as they turned the tables to claim victory.

Denham Ladies’ senior firstteam lost 3-1 while the reserves were 14-0 winners. Goals came from Elishia Allen (5), Alana MariaLazar­us and Megan Payne with a brace each. Emma Butler, Emma McConnell, Charlie-Leigh, Dixon Rachel Blackburn and TarnishaNi­cole Chapman also scored.

The senior developmen­t squad lost 1-0 to Headstone Manor.

And elsewhere, Heathrow Youth were beaten 4-1 by Concorde.

Patrick Evans scored and Zack Rogers was man of the match.

West Drayton Youth U9s beat Chiswick Youth 8-1. Liam Dines, Soroush Hafiz, Nazim Kalkan, Takunda Mafaro, Teghbir Bains, George Ireland, Karim Guerrag, Grace Grantham, Kai Callender and Harkeerat Singh all made an impact.

The U8s Blues maintained their unbeaten run with an 11-4 win over London Tigers.
