U15s cup fi­nal dreams shat­tered

KENNEDY Kithinji was the hat-trick hero for West Dray­ton Ex­plor­ers U7s Blues at the week­end.

Kithinji plun­dered three in a 5-2 win over Maiden­head War­riors with Daniel Mickale com­plet­ing the job with a brace.

Ex­plor­ers U9 Blues lost 5-2 to Chal­font Saints de­spite goals from Christo­pher Bur­ton and Ciaran West.

There was a good win for the U9s Reds as they beat Chal­font Saints United 7-1, with goals from Ehan Cupi­udo (two), Jamie McCarthy, Char­lie Pe­nil, Khalil Or­ange, Tris­tan Vil­lacru­sis and DREAMS of a County Cup fi­nal were shat­tered for an un­der­strength Den­ham United U15s Girls side on Sun­day.

A Den­ham side hit by in­jury, sick­ness and un­avail­abil­ity were beaten 3-0 by Tot­ten­ham Hot­spur U16s in their semi-fi­nal af­ter con­ced­ing two first half freak own goals.

Den­ham shuf­fled the pack at the break and im­proved in the se­cond half, but in push­ing for­ward they were caught out at Joe Ros­siter. Man of the match went to Matthew Keane.

Na­tal Er­mais net­ted three in a 6-0 tri­umph for the U9s Pur­ples over Cip­pen­ham Ze­bras, Rokas Bal­tru­saitis, Se­nay Ma­hadere the back and con­ceded the de­ci­sive third goal against the run of play.

The girls gave their all and left noth­ing on the pitch against a high qual­ity and well drilled side, and in a bruis­ing en­counter Den­ham more than held their own phys­i­cally as well.

But the 12 months dif­fer­ence in age, player for player, is where Spurs shaded it. Gina Lee was voted Den­ham’s player of the match. and Nico Mar­tucci get­ting the rest.

Five-star Jake Pick­ett and dou­ble goalscorer Reece But­ler fired the U10s to a 7-1 win over Singh Sabba.

Mo­hammed Bah’s brace se­cured a 2-2 draw for the U11s Blues against Han­well.

The Reds ended Thames Val­ley Youth’s ex­cel­lent home form beat­ing them 2-1 in a de­vel­op­ment cup match, goals from Thomas Hickey and Ai­den Ed­wards.

The U12s were vic­to­ri­ous in the League Cup quar­ter fi­nal against Holy­port as David Grover and Amari Adams starred in a penalty shootout win.

Ear­lier in the week, the U15s hosted Nor­we­gian team Droe­bak Frogn (pic­tured right) in an in­ter­na­tional friendly, with the game be­ing played in a great spirit and Den­ham run­ning out 6-0 win­ners.

Else­where, goals from Elishia Allen and Sarah Har­ri­son saw the se­nior re­serve team win 2-0 at Weald­stone, but the first team lost 3-0 at Lu­ton and the U13s went down 4-0 to Bish­ops Stort­ford in the League Cup.

It was an awe­some four­some for Ol­lie Hunt as he got four and Harry Ward got three in a 7-0 win for Sandgate Youth U7s over FC Stars.

Donny Field shone in a 4-1 win for the U8s over Chiswick Whites while the U9s beat Kingston Town Pi­o­neers 6-2.

Sandgate’s U11s came back from three goals down to draw 3-3 with Chert­sey Town Ju­niors and then beat Hilling­don Ab­bots 4-0.

Vin­nie Os­borne was man of the match in a 1-0 win for the U12s A against Tot­teridge.

Else­where, Hare­field U11s came from be­hind to win 6-2 away at Chal­font.
