U13s bow out on high

-

DENHAM United Ladies U13s signed off for the season on a high at the weekend.

United scored twice in the second half to seal a 2-0 victory over Bury Rangers to bring down the curtain on their campaign.

Grace Nwoseh and Melissa Asavoaie were on target for Denham, but Elle-Mae Goodman took home the player of the match award for her eye-catching display.

United’s U14s bowed out of the League Cup at the semi-final stage after suffering a 2-0 loss to Garston in the last four.

Yasmin Garcia delicately played in Kayleigh Currivan to finish smartly for the opener at the Den, shortly before Annie Walsh headed home to make it two.

Last year’s league champions had no answer to Denham’s precision passing and Alketa Rragami added a third and Walsh grabbed her second to finish the job.

The result keeps alive the prospect of a league and cup double as they face Carshalton again in the League Cup final next month.

Meanwhile, United Reserves had a thumping 7-0 win over Brookhouse Ladies.

Kristal Clark scored a hat-trick, there were two from Charlie-Leigh Dixon and one each from Sarah Harrison and Gemma Day.

Denham United Ladies’ first team were beaten 2-1 by MK Dons, Helen Capewell getting on the scoresheet for the defeated side.
