Orches­tra tunes into 30 years of mu­sic

THE Hilling­don Phil­har­monic Orches­tra are pre­par­ing to cel­e­brate an in­cred­i­ble 30 years of mu­sic.

They will per­form a spe­cial 30th an­niver­sary con­cert on May 21 at All Saints Church, Hilling­don and con­tinue their tra­di­tion of bring­ing clas­si­cal favourites to the widest pos­si­ble au­di­ence in the bor­ough and be­yond.

The 30th An­niver­sary Con­cert will fea­ture the mu­sic of Si­belius, Smetana and Dvorák.

Hilling­don Phil­har­monic Orches­tra was formed in 1985 and is now well es­tab­lished in the lo­cal area with over 60 reg­is­tered mem­bers.

Its mem­ber­ship con­tin­ues to be made up of lo­cal am­a­teur mu­si­cians who wish to con­tinue to de­velop their or­ches­tral play­ing.

Over the last 30 years the orches­tra has per­formed a wide va­ri­ety of works at some of Lon­don’s most pres­ti­gious venues in­clud­ing Cado­gan Hall, South­wark Cathe­dral and the Queen El­iz­a­beth Hall on the South Bank. The Orches­tra has also given count­less con­certs at lo­cal venues through­out Hilling­don in­clud­ing two out­door con­certs with fire­works in the grounds of Swake­leys House in Ick­en­ham.
