Pen­guins’ cel­e­brate their maiden vic­tory

HILLING­DON Pen­guins U13s Wa­ter Polo team are head­ing in the right di­rec­tion af­ter ex­pe­ri­enc­ing their first tri­umph.

Coaches Paul Bryan and Clau­dio Palumbo over­saw the fine maiden vic­tory as they beat a team from Bex­ley at the Whit­gift School, in Croy­don.

Abe­lardo Car­de­nas, who worked tire­lessly both in at­tack and de­fence, is shap­ing up to be an out­stand­ing player and was in­te­gral to the club’s suc­cess.

An­to­nio Bardella also put in an eye-catch­ing dis­play while Ben Ma­son fi­nally broke his duck and scored what is hope­fully the first of many goals.

How­ever, the whole team must take credit and Ramsey Ham­moutene, Joshua Pan, Levi Malhi, Ge­or­gia Moura­tidi, Abe­lardo Car­de­nas, Sean McHugh, Inesh War­na­pala, Nikola Chris­tov, Kushi Ta­mada and Max­im­i­lien Bruck all shone for the Pen­guins.

Now kit­ted out in new equip­ment, cour­tesy of Post­code Com­mu­nity Trust, the fu­ture looks bright for the Hilling­don young­sters as the club ex­pands.

New play­ers are be­ing sought by the Pen­guins and you could be get­ting in­volved in this ex­cit­ing sport if you are aged 10 to 18 and a com­pe­tent swim­mer ca­pa­ble of nav­i­gat­ing deep wa­ter. The Pen­guins train ev­ery Satur­day dur­ing school term time at Uxbridge Pool at the Hilling­don Sport & Leisure Com­plex.
