Homes, cin­ema and shops ‘of­fer a win­ning for­mula’

Next batch of hous­ing at Avedis de­vel­op­ment on sale soon

PROSPECTIVE home­buy­ers are in­vited to pre­view plans for hous­ing at South Ruis­lip’s ‘new town cen­tre’, af­ter the first batch re­leased for sale were snapped up in a day.

Bell­way Homes North Lon­don sold 32 homes in less than 24 hours at their Avedis de­vel­op­ment, on Satur­day April 21 on the for­mer Arla Dairy site, next to a new su­per­store and cin­ema com­plex.

The speedy sales come af­ter 73 flats in Uxbridge town cen­tre were sold in just five hours for over £16 mil­lion, ahead of con­struc­tion.

The de­vel­op­ment in­cludes a new Asda store and petrol sta­tion, an 11 screen Cineworld cin­ema com­plex and five restau­rants, as well as a to­tal of 163 one, two, or three-bed­roomed homes.

Those who missed out will have a chance to con­sider an­other se­lec­tion of two bed­room homes, set to be re­leased mid-late June, with guide prices start­ing from £380,000.

The two bed­room apart­ments fea­ture an open-plan kitchen, liv­ing and din­ing area lead­ing to a pri­vate ter­race, an en suite to the master bed­room and a mod­ern fam­ily bath­room.

Oliver We­ston, De­vel­op­ment Sur­veyor at Ci­ty­grove Se­cu­ri­ties, which man­ages the over­all site, said: “This site was va­cant for many years and needed to be brought back into ac­tive use to ben­e­fit lo­cal res­i­dents.

“The leisure fa­cil­i­ties will pro­vide op­por­tu­ni­ties for fam­i­lies to eat, shop and watch a movie with­out hav­ing to travel fur­ther afield.

“Im­por­tantly, the scheme has been de­signed around sig­nif­i­cant new public realm, to pro­vide a fo­cal point for the town cen­tre of South Ruis­lip.”

There is also ex­ten­sive land­scap­ing work for a cen­tral, open public pi­azza with seat­ing and new off-road walk­ing and cy­cling routes.

Res­i­dents have pre­vi­ously spo­ken out at the level of traf­fic in South Ruis­lip, in light of a new Aldi store be­ing built.
