Make a splash at this year’s Colourdash

-

BE prepared for colourful scenes at Brunel University as this year’s #Colourdash takes place tomorrow.

The 5k colour run begins at 2pm, in the university grounds, where the dashers will be pelted with coloured powder as they zip through four colour stations dotted along the route – each one manned and armed by event volunteers – with one simple mission, to throw as much paint as possible at those sprinting or jogging passed and raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice Charity at the same time.

“It’s going to be a really fun, colourful and messy event – we want everyone taking part to be splashed head-to-toe in paint before they cross the finish line,” said MSHC’s Sam Heggie.

“It’s not too late to take part and help raise money for Michael Sobell Hospice, which provides specialist care and support to local people on our doorstep.”

Estate agent Gibbs Gillespie of Uxbridge will be taking part with their team of colour dashers including Holly Pendred, Sophie Flegg, Caleigh Pearson, Nicola Martin, Shavonne Mcleod and Louise Wood.

Sam said: “We’re really looking forward to the event and are encouraging all those taking part to raise as much sponsorship as you can, by asking friends and family. If those, who have already registered raised £50 each, this could help pay for five weeks of specialist care for a terminally ill patient from a Michael Sobell Hospice nurse, so you can see it really does make a big difference.”

Michael Sobell Hospice Charity needs to raise over £1.6 million pounds each year to ensure the continued funding of hospice services for local patients and their families facing life-limiting illness across Herts and Bucks.

Entry for students and 11-17 year olds costs £10pp and £13pp for adults. You can sign up online at www. michaelsobellhospice. co.uk or simply, pop down on the day and register from midday.
