Rangers’ girls celebrate a double delight

-

RUISLIP Rangers U11s scooped a double this weekend to make it four trophies for the girls after a stunning season.

Triumphs in the Herts Girls Football Partnership Shield and the Chorley Common Youth Tournament made it a weekend to remember for Rangers.

Saturday saw them defeat St Albans City 4-1 in the Shield Final, with goals from Krystal Follett, Roopjot Bath and a double from Ciara Moore.

The victory was made all the more impressive with their opponents being a division above.

The step up in class did little to intimidate the girls as they dominated from the first whistle with centre midfielder Annabelle Hemmings the standout player.

They backed up their Shield win on the Sunday with success in the Chorley Common Youth Tournament.

Featuring several individuals who missed out on Saturday’s cup final, the girls topped their group before meeting Chorley’s B team in the semis.

Goals from Moore and Bath ensured a safe passage into the final where they would take on Chorley’s A team.

Strikes from Tessa McCarthy and another from girl of the tournament Moore was enough for a 2-0 victory and yet another trophy.

Meanwhile, Ruislip Rangers will be hosting a free girls football open day between 11am and 12.30pm at Kings College Playing Fields on Saturday June 4.

Girls aged between seven and 16 are all welcome regardless of previous experience. Rangers run girls teams from U9s to U16s with the opportunity to progress into adult football.
