Fundrais­ing’s a piece of cake for boys

BOYS at Ab­bots­field School held a cake sale to sup­port and raise aware­ness of Neu­rob­las­toma af­ter read­ing an ar­ti­cle in the Uxbridge Gazette.

The boys were in­spired af­ter read­ing about eight-year-old Jes­sica Shep­herd’s fight with Neu­rob­las­toma and how she had named her tu­mour Boris, in a tongue in cheek fash­ion af­ter the MP for Uxbridge and South Ruis­lip.

They raised in ex­cess of £100 for the Solv­ing Kids Can­cer char­ity to help any­one who is fight­ing Neu­rob­las­toma re­ceive the treat­ment they need. DR Onkar Sa­hota, the Lon­don Assem­bly mem­ber for Hilling­don and Eal­ing, will be speak­ing on the topic of ‘Tack­ling TB in Lon­don’.
