Fundraising’s a piece of cake for boys
BOYS at Abbotsfield School held a cake sale to support and raise awareness of Neuroblastoma after reading an article in the Uxbridge Gazette.
The boys were inspired after reading about eight-year-old Jessica Shepherd’s fight with Neuroblastoma and how she had named her tumour Boris, in a tongue in cheek fashion after the MP for Uxbridge and South Ruislip.
They raised in excess of £100 for the Solving Kids Cancer charity to help anyone who is fighting Neuroblastoma receive the treatment they need. DR Onkar Sahota, the London Assembly member for Hillingdon and Ealing, will be speaking on the topic of ‘Tackling TB in London’.
If you are interested in what is happening with one of our major diseases come to the meeting at Mount Vernon Hospital Post Graduate Centre at 7.30pm on Thursday.
