Ten­nis club opens doors

NORTH­WOOD Ten­nis Club are throw­ing open their doors to would-be Andy Mur­rays and Laura Rob­sons for a fam­ily fun open day.

As part of the LTA’s Great Bri­tish Ten­nis Week­end ini­tia­tive, North­wood are host­ing the event with a view to en­cour­ag­ing peo­ple of all ages to play ten­nis on a reg­u­lar ba­sis.

The day will run from noon un­til 4pm on Satur­day and en­try is free.

Coaches will pro­vide hints on ten­nis play­ing, there will be fun games for chil­dren, a raf­fle with a top prize of £100, a cake stall and a bar­be­cue.

North­wood has four flood­lit courts and is based in Pines Close off Frith­wood Av­enue a quiet area near to Frith­wood Park.

Matches for those who are com­pet­i­tive and so­cial ten­nis for those who just want some ex­er­cise. Reg­u­lar so­cial events and in­ter­nal com­pe­ti­tions are also held.
