Tennis club opens doors

NORTHWOOD Tennis Club are throwing open their doors to would-be Andy Murrays and Laura Robsons for a family fun open day.

As part of the LTA’s Great British Tennis Weekend initiative, Northwood are hosting the event with a view to encouragin­g people of all ages to play tennis on a regular basis.

The day will run from noon until 4pm on Saturday and entry is free.

Coaches will provide hints on tennis playing, there will be fun games for children, a raffle with a top prize of £100, a cake stall and a barbecue.

Northwood has four floodlit courts and is based in Pines Close off Frithwood Avenue a quiet area near to Frithwood Park.

Matches for those who are competitiv­e and social tennis for those who just want some exercise. Regular social events and internal competitio­ns are also held.
