Tennis club opens doors
NORTHWOOD Tennis Club are throwing open their doors to would-be Andy Murrays and Laura Robsons for a family fun open day.
As part of the LTA’s Great British Tennis Weekend initiative, Northwood are hosting the event with a view to encouraging people of all ages to play tennis on a regular basis.
The day will run from noon until 4pm on Saturday and entry is free.
Coaches will provide hints on tennis playing, there will be fun games for children, a raffle with a top prize of £100, a cake stall and a barbecue.
Northwood has four floodlit courts and is based in Pines Close off Frithwood Avenue a quiet area near to Frithwood Park.
Matches for those who are competitive and social tennis for those who just want some exercise. Regular social events and internal competitions are also held.
