THAT’S ENTERTAINMENT:

Pupils bring alive Roaring Twenties

-

PUPILS from Abbotsfield School in Hillingdon held a 1920s themed party for residents of a care home recently.

Year 10 pupils visited Sweetcroft care home, in Sweetcroft Lane, to hold the party as part of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.

The school had applied for funding from Unilever earlier in the year and after being given the thumbs up they hired 1920s dancers and provided a special tea.

Residents also told stories of their memories of the Queen’s Coronation with tears in their eyes and thanked pupils for bringing the Queen’s celebration to them.

Sam Alison, manager of Sweetcroft care home, said: “We all thoroughly enjoy the visits from Abbotsfield School, but we’re even more thankful for the Queen’s celebration party they laid on for the residents.

“Its nice to know that the school gives up some of their time to come out to the community and interact with the older generation”
