MORE than 700 people enjoyed a great family day out at Moorwards Farm Party in the Paddock.

Moorwards Farm Equestrian Coaching Facility, in Iver Heath, held its third summer event, on Sunday July 10, to celebrate the opening of their dedicated Accessibility Mark arena, in partnership with Riding for the Disabled (RDA), and Hoof, the British Equestrian Federation’s (BEF) participation programme.

The arena will be of real benefit for those with special needs, allowing them to participate in equine related activities.

Naomi Isaiah and Amy Caldwell helped cut the ribbon and launch the event.

Among the entertainment for visitors were craft and food stalls, a bouncy castle and children’s rides.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police and Dog Agility Cippenham Dog Training Club were also represented at the event.

Kevin Munn’s 10 ton steam roller, built in 1926, was steaming along and also popular with visitors was Pinocchio the horse, featured in Cinderella.

Stunt performer Steve Dent and his horses are trained to perform stunt work and have featured in films such as The Huntsman, Cinderella and War Horse.

The Indoor Riding Arenas offered pony rides, while special guest Alex Uttley from acrobatic gymnast group Spelbound winners of Britain’s Got Talent 2010 coordinated a stunning demonstration with young gymnasts from London Borough of Hillingdon Gymnastics Club.

Kelly Fox and her four legged team provided an insight into the world of miniature horses and there were demonstrations from Moorwards Farm Young Equestrians, local community groups, as well as live music from local bands.

Jodie Maile, yard manager at Moorwards Farm Equestrian Coaching Facility, said: “We are proud to be an Accessibility Mark centre and support RDA in their aim to ensure anyone with special needs get the opportunity to interact with horses.”

Moorwards Farm Equestrian Coaching Facility also has a café and comfortable training lounges, providing the local community with a place to socialise, hold meetings, start horse riding or continue to develop their skills and have fun.
