20,000 litres of beer to en­joy

WITH two gi­gan­tic tankers full of beer, sausages and Brezel, the or­ga­niz­ers of Lon­don Ok­to­ber­fest have made it to West Lon­don af­ter a long jour­ney from Ger­many.

From to­mor­row un­til Sun­day the Ger­man fes­ti­val comes to Ac­ton Green in Eal­ing of­fer­ing five days of ‘fun, good food and giood mood’.

Set­ting up a huge marquee with a ca­pac­ity of 1,500 seats, the or­ga­niz­ers ex­pect 10,000 guests to come and cel­e­brate the 206th year of Ok­to­ber­fest. The beer has trav­elled from Bavaria to Eng­land in a gi­gan­tic tanker. It is a golden lager 5% ABV, brewed ac­cord­ing to Ger­man Pu­rity Law.

The Ok­to­ber­fest team hopes 20,000 litres of fresh beer is The Uxbridge Gazette Se­ries enough to sat­isfy thirsty rev­el­ers. They also bring 13,000 Ger­man sausages in­clud­ing the beloved Bratwurst and 7,000 Brezel.

Staff will be dressed in tra­di­tional Bavar­ian cos­tume, Leder­ho­sen and Dirndls.

Guests can rent one from a Gift Shop on site. There is an Oompa band per­form­ing live Sch­lager mu­sic ev­ery day. Event go­ers are promised an au­then­tic Ok­to­ber­fest ex­pe­ri­ence, just like in Mu­nich.

Event di­rec­tor Carsten Raun said: “We look for­ward to par­ty­ing with West Lon­don.”

En­trance is free on Wed­nes­day, Thurs­day and Sun­day and £10 on Fri­day and Satur­day. There is an age limit of 18+ ev­ery day ex­cept Sun­day.
