Three ar­rested af­ter stab­bing in town cen­tre

Men bailed un­til early next month

A THIRD man has been ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of at­tempted mur­der fol­low­ing a stab­bing in Uxbridge town cen­tre.

Two men, aged 20 and 22, were ar­rested on the morn­ing of Tues­day Au­gust 2, close to where a man in his 20s had been stabbed in the early hours of that day.

Po­lice said a third man, aged 20, had later handed him­self in at a west Lon­don po­lice sta­tion.

All three men were ar­rested on sus­pi­cion of at­tempted mur­der and have been bailed to a date in early Septem­ber.

Po­lice had been called to Uxbridge High Street at 3.49am to re­ports of a stab­bing, and a man in his 20s later pre­sented him­self at a west Lon­don hospi­tal with stab wounds.

He was trans­ferred to a cen­tral Lon­don hospi­tal, where po­lice said he re­mained on Wed­nes­day af­ter­noon in a sta­ble con­di­tion.

His in­juries are not be­lieved by po­lice to be life-threat­en­ing or lifechang­ing.

Uxbridge High Street was closed on Tues­day, close to the junc­tion with Vine Street, fol­low­ing the stab­bing.

Of­fi­cers from Hilling­don CID are in­ves­ti­gat­ing the in­ci­dent and their en­quiries are on­go­ing.

The lat­est knif­ing fol­lows two fa­tal stab­bings in west Lon­don in the space of three days.

A 48-year-old man died on Mon­day Au­gust 1 af­ter be­ing stabbed in Kil­burn High Road.

On Sun­day July 31, Sukhjin­der Singh died af­ter be­ing stabbed in Southall the pre­vi­ous night.
