BESTSELLING author Phyllis Whitsell returned to Waterstones in intu Uxbridge last week to sign copies of the newly-released paperback version of her book Finding Tipperary Mary.

The book tells how she found her mother who gave her up for adoption and then nursed her when she was ill – all without her mother knowing who she was.

Phyllis is pictured here with the Gazette’s Barbara Fisher who helped with the book.

THE author of the international bestseller Finding Tipperary Mary returned to the Uxbridge branch of Waterstones on Wednesday, following the successful launch of the hardback there in February.

Phyllis Whitsell has already been signing copies of the newly published paperback in Birmingham and Coventry, but in Uxbridge she had the extra bonus of meeting several Gazette readers who had heard of her book through the newspaper.

Phyllis’s natural warmth shone through as she chatted easily with the customers, many of whom had already read the book or seen her on television, on The One Show and This Morning, earlier this year.

Though she has now returned to the Midlands, signed copies are available at Waterstones in Intu shopping centre.

Phyllis said: “It was lovely to return to Uxbridge where we had such a fantastic launch of Finding Tipperary Mary earlier this year.

“Thank you to the staff at Waterstones who made me so welcome, and also to the many friendly people who came to chat, many of them sharing their own stories with me.”
