Sci­ence boost at in­ter­na­tional school

State-of-the-art cen­tre will al­low ACS to ‘con­tinue to de­liver a first-class ed­u­ca­tion’

A SCHOOL has un­veiled its plans for a state-ofthe art sci­ence cen­tre, as well as wel­com­ing its new head teacher.

ACS Hilling­don In­ter­na­tional School has cel­e­brated the ground­break­ing of a multi-mil­lion pound school devel­op­ment project, in­clud­ing a cut­ting-edge sci­ence cen­tre, as well as a new li­brary and tech­nol­ogy fa­cil­i­ties.

With con­struc­tion un­der way, the de­vel­op­ments will en­able the school to ex­pand the ed­u­ca­tion op­por­tu­ni­ties on of­fer.

Neelu Sharma, head of sci­ence at ACS Hilling­don, said: “ACS Hilling­don prides it­self on pro­vid­ing a stim­u­lat­ing, dy­namic and for­ward-think­ing learn­ing en­vi­ron­ment.

“The new sci­ence fa­cil­i­ties will en­able and in­spire cu­ri­ous minds to delve deeper and pro­vide stu­dents with the best prepa­ra­tion for univer­sity and highly suc­cess­ful ca­reers in sci­ence.”

ACS Hilling­don also wel­comed a new head teacher this aca­demic year.

Diane Hren has worked within ACS In­ter­na­tional Schools for more than 10 years and will over­see the com­ple­tion and open­ing of the new devel­op­ment project.

Mov­ing to ACS Hilling­don from her role as head of pro­grammes at ACS, Diane has also been deputy head of school at sis­ter campus ACS Cob­ham in Sur­rey and, more re­cently, head of school at ACS Doha In­ter­na­tional School in Qatar.

Ms Hren said: “As a long­stand­ing mem­ber of the ACS com­mu­nity, I am thrilled to be join­ing ACS Hilling­don as head of school at this ex­cit­ing time.

“In­vest­ing in our ed­u­ca­tion of­fer­ing will en­able us to con­tinue to de­liver a first class in­ter­na­tional ed­u­ca­tion – some­thing for which the school is renowned.

The sci­ence cen­tre is due to be com­pleted next year and for any­one in­ter­ested in vis­it­ing the school, meet­ing teach­ers and tour­ing the campus and fa­cil­i­ties, there is an open morn­ing on Satur­day Oc­to­ber 1.
