Hillingdon at top for car parking spaces
Heathrow makes up the bulk of borough’s amenities
A BOROUGH-by-borough breakdown by parking service spacehopper reveals the total number of parking spaces in west London.
Public car parks in the area cover a total area of nearly 3.9sq km – almost three times the size of Hyde Park.
The findings by new parking service spacehopper also reveal car parks in the west of the capital account for nearly half the car parks in London.
The findings show Hillingdon has the most car parking spaces in west London, but this figure is hugely inflated because of Heathrow Airport.
If this was to be taken away from the tables, Brent would top the table Borough/total accredited spaces/total footprint of car parks (sq km)/ total footprint of car parks (sq metres)/equivalent full-size football pitches

Overall, London’s public car parks cover an area of 8.4sq km, while west London’s coverage is 3.9sq km – equivalent to 550 Old Trafford football pitches.
