Hop to our shops for relay great fun

-

AWALK on the wild side? It’s a fact of life that not all of us can run marathons; we’re not all made that way (fortunately!). Some of us prefer a gentle bike ride, a leisurely walk and maybe, a little bit of shopping and that is something we can help with.

On the April 23 we will be holding our first ever Retail Relay: Ramble, Run or Ride. The idea is very simple; all we want you to do is to walk, run or cycle around all of our seven shops in one day. If you are feeling fit you can take on the challenge on your own or with a friend. If you are feeling a little less energetic you can do it as a relay with each team member doing just one leg. You can even just do one leg if that is all you can manage, it’s up to you.

If you want to cover all seven legs the total distance is just over 20 miles so it’s a full day’s commitment. The choice of route, where you start and where you finish is totally up to you so if you know any short cuts through back alleys or across fields that’s fine with us. We just need you to check in at each of our shops as you go and raise as much money as possible.

There will be a non-refundable registration fee of £10 per person which will cover our costs so every penny you raise will be spent on caring for our animals.

Registration details will be on our website very soon and information packs / registration forms will be available in the shops.

If you would like to take part please put the date in your diary (it happens to be the same day as the London Marathon), get your team together, start thinking about your route and maybe, start training.

Our shops are in Kenton, Pinner, Eastcote, Ruislip, Ruislip Manor, Rickmansworth and Watford.

Sam Sam is tiny. He is a really friendly little chap brought in by one of the RSPCA Inspectors. Sam had been abandoned in a flat when the heartless owners moved out, leaving him to fend for himself – if he hadn’t been found he wouldn’t have survived for very long. Having visited our office a few times, Sam proved himself to by something of an IT specialist by sneaking behind our computer server disabling all access and disconnecting the internet which is pretty impressive when you are only a few weeks old!

If you think you could offer a forever home to Sam or any of the cats and kittens we currently have in our care then please call (020) 8966 9688 or email info@ rspcamiddlesex.org.uk

You can see pictures of many of the other animals (budgies, rats, rabbits, cats & kittens) in our care on our Facebook page – www. facebook.com/RSPCAMNW ad you can follow us on twitter too @RSPCAMIDDLESEX And finally.. If you were one of the generous people who dropped some money in our buckets when we were collecting at Pets at Home in Watford, Ruislip and St Albans – Thank you – we really appreciate it.
